Pulimurugan, the Mohanlal starring action thriller, is performing extremely well at the box office. The movie, which hit the theatres on October 7, Friday, has already earned the blockbuster status.Now, Pulimurugan has now rewritten the history, by emerging as the fastest Malayalam movie to cross the 20-Crore mark breaking Oppam's record. The movie made a gross collection of about 21 Crores, within the first 5 days of its release.

Apart from breaking the record of Oppam, which had earned Rs 20 crore in 11 days, Pulimurugan has also crossed the lifetime gross collection of a few other language movies as well. The Mohanlal-starrer has emerged as the highest opening day grosser in Malayalam with an approximate collection of Rs 4.08 crore, which is Rs 1.65 crore more than Mammootty's Kasaba that made a business of Rs 2.43 crore on its first day at Kerala box office.

It is a surely a huge achievement for a Malayalam film, which was made with a budget around 25 Crores. The team expects that Pulimurugan will cross 25 Crores, within the first week of its release.

Oppam grossed around 34.72 crore from 31 days from Kerala box office. It raked another 3 crore from rest of India market. The movie collected 1.1 crore from USA & UK market. Oppam released last week in UAE and other GCC countries, the movie got great opening in there. It grossed around 4.36 crore from UAE and 1.79 crore from other GCC countries with in three days.
